The SCK Circuit is ideal for seasoned and novice drivers alike. Ideally located adjacent to Bournemouth International Airport just 5 miles from Bournemouth's town center the circuit is easily accessible for all.

 

The flood lit circuit is available for pre booked timed sessions and exclusive group hire all year round and in all weathers from 10am - 10pm daily.

South Coast Karting opened on April 1st 2017.  After a relocation and re-brand from Matchams Karting  

​

A family business run and managed by father Ray and two sons George & Jim Lovell. 

​

South Coast Karting really is run by racers for racers. With a huge history in Motorsport behind the Lovell Family.

George

George holds a position as one of the directors at SCK, bringing with him an impressive 29 years of experience in the field of motor racing. He was among the top 10 UK seeded drivers in the late 90s and came close to winning the national title in 2000. In 2001, he clinched a Formula Ford title, solidifying his position as a skilled driver.

​

Along with his racing expertise, George also has 18 years of experience in circuit management, making him a valuable asset to the team. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge to ensure the success of SCK.

Mitchell

Mitchell began his journey with the track team in 2020, starting off as a track Marshal and has since been recognized for his outstanding performance and promoted to a more senior role within the team.

​

With two years of experience, he has gained a comprehensive understanding of the high standards that are expected at SCK.

Aside from his regular duties on the track, Mitchell also takes on the responsibility of duty manager a few weekends every month, demonstrating his strong work ethic and dedication to the team's success.

Darryl

Prior to joining the SCK team as Track Team Manager, Darryl worked as a prison officer, demonstrating his commitment to public service. With his experience and skills, he now leads the track team at SCK, ensuring the smooth operation of the track and the success of the team.

 

In addition to Darryl's leadership, the SCK team also boasts another talented racer with a proven track record of success. This team member has achieved great success throughout the UK racing 600cc motorcycles in the Thunder Sport UK Championship, further solidifying the team's racing prowess.

Jim

Jim is a company director at SCK, bringing with him an impressive background in motorcycle racing. With 22 years of success in the Thundersport UK and British Super Bike championships, Jim has proven himself as a skilled and accomplished racer.

In addition to his racing achievements,

 

Jim also has 16 years of experience working at circuits, further deepening his knowledge of the industry. In 2017, he was appointed as a company director at SCK, where he continues to contribute his expertise to the success of the team.

Matchams Karting Ltd began trading in November 2004 and together the family have hosted 1000's of Corporate races, stag and hen do's, birthdays and timed sessions sessions. This vast experience coupled with a whole life's involvement in motor racing makes for a winning combination for an unforgettable Karting experience with South Coast Karting 

​

In 2017 the dream was realised when the doors were opened at South Coast Karting. A brand new corporate Karting facility for everyone to enjoy, just a 5 mile journey from Bournemouth's town centre.

THE LOVELLS

Ray Lovell

Ray started his working career in the motor racing world and started racing in short circuit Mini Stocks championship in the early 90's. This was followed by a spell in the post historic saloon car championship in his self prepared Dolomite Sprint. Ray retired from racing to make time for George to start Karting in 1994 and more recently has been back on track racing his MGB GT.

George Lovell

Eldest son George, followed in dads footsteps and started racing from the age of just 8 years old, claiming multiple championships throughout the years including regional championships such as the Wessex championship and Welsh championships, was a top ten UK seeded driver on 3 occasions, narrowly missing out on the British Championship title in 1999. George's Karting career was followed by some time in Formula Ford where another Championship was won in the winter of 2001. Georges now makes a rare appearance behind the where, in 2018 he took 100uk British Open Championship title. 2022 raced in the May Day meeting at Castle Coombe, taking the win and lap record in the MG owners club championship race driving Rays  MGBGT.

Jim Lovell

Jim, started out in Karts at 8 years old, and like his brother it wasn't long until he was winning. Jim won his first Karting Championship at 13 years old in the CPKC Mini Max Championship before making a switch to racing on two wheels. Jim has won the British pit bikes championship on multiple occasions and has also raced with success in the Honda CBR cup, the triumph triple challenge and 600 super sport in the British Super Bike Championship.
